Saints Row começou praticamente como uma cópia de GTA. Um jogo em mundo aberto que possibilitava a realização de crimes e missões estranhas, e que em um primeiro momento não agradou muito. Foi somente na terceira edição que o jogo acabou ganhando um identidade própria, não sendo mais considerado somente como uma cópia de GTA, mas sim como um jogo diferente, com personalidade e muita comédia envolvidos.
Mesmo assim, algumas coisas ainda são kibadas do grandão da Rockstar. Uma delas pro exemplo é o fato de que durante o gameplay, podemos ouvir alguma rádios que são separadas por gêneros e que possuem “DJ’s” diferentes. Com o lançamento de Saints Row 4 quase ai, a Deep Silver resolveu liberar a lista das rádios presentes no jogo, totalizando 109 músicas divididas em 7 estações. Alem disso, o jogo promete quase 80 minutos de conteúdo original criado por Malcolm Kirby Jr. -nunca ouvi falar – e contar com uma seleção bem eclética, contando com grandes nomes como Papa Roach, Chopin, Aerosmith e Cypress Hill.
