A lista de indicados do Emmy 2014 foi liberada e, para a surpresa de ninguém, Game of Thrones, da HBO, é a líder de indicações com 19, seguida de perto de Fargo, minissérie exibida no canal FX, que recebeu 18.
Na disputa entre emissoras de televisão, a campeã em indicações desse ano foi a HBO, com 99, seguida pela FX, que recebeu 45. Para a surpresa de muitos, a terceira colocada não foi uma emissora de TV e sim o Netflix, que teve produções independentes muito boas nesse ano com a segunda temporada de House of Cards (13 indicações) e de Orange is The New Black (12 indicações).
Outra série que também recebeu uma porrada de indicações, mesmo já tendo terminado há um tempo, foi Breaking Bad. Ao todo, foram 16, incluindo as categorias de melhor série dramática e melhor ator (Bryan Cranston).
